Zero-emission vehicles, or ZEVs are vehicles that produce no tailpipe pollutants. Ideally the ZEVs should be powered from zero emission fuel sources (e.g. [[electric fuel]] produced from [[renewable energy]] sources such as solar, wind, hydro or geothermal). Programs to increase use of ZEVs are being pursued to help reduce air pollution problems.

		+	==Fuel Cell Vehicles==
		+	Fuel cell vehicles (FCVs) are often misclassified as ZEVs. FCVs use hydrogen fuel made primarily from fossil natural gas, so emissions are produced when the hydrogen fuel is made. Thus, all FCVs on the road today are actually fossil fuel vehicles that should be held responsible for the pollution released during production of their hydrogen fuel.
