Plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) enable a transition from fossil fuel to renewable fuel with zero net CO2 emissions. Renewable energy (solar, wind & water) can be used to generate electricity to fuel the majority (e.g. 90%) of the miles traveled by the PHEV.Renewable liquid biofuel can be used to fuel the remaining miles (e.g. 10%) traveled by the PHEV.
