Changes to site structure...

I would prefer we discuss major changes to the site structure and menu system before implementing them... For example, at this moment (in the history of PHEVs) I don't see a need to distinguish between production PHEVs and conversion PHEVs as I'm not yet satisfied with the level of production PHEV commitment from the manufacturers. I assume that's where you're headed with the new (PHEV_Conversions) page, which are already presented at Plug-In_Hybrids#Prius_PHEVs? What do you think? --Rjf 13:09, 18 June 2006 (CDT)

Most certainly! I have reverted the navigation, which makes the (PHEV_Conversions) page no longer necessary, which I vae deleted. DavideAndrea 13:36, 18 June 2006 (CDT)

Hybrids-Plus

Ryan, I created the page Hybrids-Plus. http://www.eaa-phev.org/index.php?title=Hybrids-Plus Would you mind coming up with some way of linking to it from the rest of the site? Thanks! --DavideAndrea 09:56, 27 June 2006 (CDT)

I've added Hybrids-Plus to Template:Prius PHEV Options which is included at Prius PHEV & Plug-In Hybrids, aswell as the main menu. --Rjf 12:08, 27 June 2006 (CDT)

--DavideAndrea 10:29, 27 June 2006 (CDT)

Unfortunently I don't think that would work because the nesting menus would expand the first instance of Production HEV or PHEV Conversions when those pages are visited and thus never expand the subsaquent instances. On the current Hybrid(Production Hybrid) page is a list of all current HEV's, and the menu expands to those vehicles available at dealers. If there are PHEV conversions of these production vehicles there will be a link on the main Hybrid page and from that vehicles stock page to it's main conversion page explaining it's PHEV exploits. The Plug-In Hybrids(PHEV) page then lists production vehicles like the DaimlerChrysler Sprinter Van, Saab 9-3 PHEV, etc aswell as all of our various PHEV conversions. I've tried to write any other page which might be applicable to multiple vehicles in a non-vehicle specific manner, but IMA and HSD can only appear on the menu once so they go under the first vehicle to use them, thought they are not PHEV toppics. Things like Tap Emulation or SOC Drift are generic PHEV toppics and so appear under the PHEV terms in the menu. Thanks for the new page and the suggestion. --Rjf 12:50, 27 June 2006 (CDT)

Prius PHEV TechInfo in Sidebar

per User talk:Rjf#Prius PHEV TechInfo in Sidebar

Thanks for putting a link in the sidebar for the Prius Tech Info page! --DavideAndrea 07:06, 4 July 2006 (CDT)

No problem, thanks for all your help arround the site, those pics are great. BTW, are you working directly with the Hybrids-Plus team? Be sure to let me know if I can help you guys with anything that hasn't made it to the website yet... --Rjf 12:36, 4 July 2006 (CDT)

Prius Pack Voltages?

I see some unusuail pack voltages listed here:Prius PHEV TechInfo#Battery voltage which don't seem to match what I've collected here:Toyota Prius Battery Specs. It's possible that I missed this change in the 2006 Prius, if so could you point me to a referance. Otherwise perhaps you're refering to some other vehicle like the HH/RX400h? --Rjf 12:57, 4 July 2006 (CDT)

per User talk:Rjf#You cleared my confusion .28Lexus vs Prius batt vtg.29 No problem, and yes Wikis are great! That battery specs page may need to be renamed to (Hybrid Battery Specs) so that it can include all the other vehicles instead of just the Toyota/Lexus specs... perhaps someday... --Rjf 18:32, 4 July 2006 (CDT)

Nice Comp table at Template:Prius PHEV Options

That is a very nice comp table you've built at Template:Prius PHEV Options, though it may be a little bit to large for this template which is supposed to be a quick list of all the options as it's included on a number of pages. I may move it to its own template or article perhaps included in the main Prius PHEV page. Then I can further compress the old PHEV Options template to be included on each of the individule Prius Project pages... Good work and Thanks! --Rjf 23:53, 8 July 2006 (CDT)

Thanks. I debated for a long time where to put it: in the template or in the Prius PHEV page. My preference would be for the latter. But, in the end, I figured that you would place it where you felt it was the most appropriate (thanks in advance for doing that), so it didn't matter where I put it. After it has its final home, I'd like to contact all the parties involved (you being one) and ask to complete/correct that table as far as their own project is concerned. --DavideAndrea 10:19, 9 July 2006 (CDT)
Perhaps we'll leave it where it's at now and create a new Template:Prius PHEV Options Summary for the previous brief version which will appear on each projects main page. Speaking of which I'd also like to change the first row of project names to local links to their full pages, I see you have links to each projects website in one of the following rows anyway. If each company/project is to stop by and update their information then I'll need to remember to remove the protection from that template page. Nearly all of the pages are protected such that only users may edit them, while still allowing anonymous edits of each articles discussion page. Anyway, I'll be without a network connection at home for about a week or so and may not get to some of these changes for a while. ps. you can use | colspan=6 | row contents in a table instead of multiple empty | lines... --Rjf 22:02, 9 July 2006 (CDT)
I made the changes you suggested. The Colspan doesn't behave the same as what I had before, but I prefer the way it looks now; so, thank you. Would like me to move the table into the Prius PHEV page? There's really no reason for it to be in a template. I'll gladly move it, jut lem me know your preference. Then you don't have to worry about permissions and creating templates. --DavideAndrea 00:16, 10 July 2006 (CDT)
Actually, we can unprotect your new table/template without unprotecting the main Prius PHEV page. --Rjf 04:14, 10 July 2006 (CDT)

Potential CAN CRC Algorithm

Thought you might be interested in reviewing, verifying, and adding this information to the TechInfo page. Talk:Prius PHEV TechInfo#Potential CAN CRC Algorithm --Rjf 14:47, 31 July 2006 (CDT)

Thanks!
We knew that was true for the least 6 bits, but not for the entire 8 bits. Either he or we missed something. I'll look at it again.
I Can't look at it right now, too many other things going on. But I'll look at it soon.

Prius PHEV TechInfo#Causes for errors

I just love the new information you've added at Prius PHEV TechInfo#Causes for errors! ie: "...tell the car the battery is as 100% SOC..." Not that my own project has the ability to "tell the car" anything, but it's really good to know what happens way out at the edges of what the car might experience! I found it especially interesting that the car will run with the hybrid system disabled, due to voltage discrepancies and such, would love to hear more regarding it's performance in this mode. Seems it would be difficult to get started without the battery, though I suppose it must still have enough control to use the motors to produce/consume/transfer power on the fly only. Really great stuff! --Rjf 19:01, 13 October 2006 (CDT)

Thanks!

Spam and Blocking

Thank you for reverting spam on pages. I'm currently without a network connection at home and will be on vacation during the holidays, only able to check on things periodical while away, so I appreciate you removing spam messages that I don't get to first. I have a spam filter that is shared between the SEVA and EAA-PHEV websites which blocks any posting of malicious url addresses, I keep a record of it here SEVA:User:Rjf/Spam, though this is itself not the blacklist. However if you want, you can add offending domains to my talk page in my absence, which I will then add to the actual blacklist when I get the chance. Especially if it's a "New Page Bot", after adding the bad url you can "delete" the new page which you should have permission to do. Other bots that just add new content to an existing page can only be rolled back or reverted, but urls from such edits can also be blocked in the future so adding them to my talk page would be helpful. Also, you are welcome to block the contributors of spam, but only do so for a time period of a week or so instead of forever as other people may share the same IP address. Thanks again for all your help at this website which can sometimes get a little messy due to my wanting to keep it as open and public as possible. --Rjf 16:58, 17 December 2006 (CST)

I've noticed that you have been blocking (for just a week) and reverting spam edits on the site and appreciate your help. Although it's not a serious issue or show stopper, I would prefer if you wouldn't delete these spam pages as I need to see them so I can add their malicious urls to my blacklist, after which I will delete them. Until I can make the blacklist editable via the site there's no way to give anyone else the ability to add offending urls to the list :( Anyway, thanks for everything. --Rjf 19:07, 23 January 2007 (CST)
Actually, originally I deleted the content, not the page. Then you went and deleted the page (I guess after seeing the history). From that I gathered you preferred that the page be deleted, not just emptied. I will just empty pages in the future, and let you delete them. DavideAndrea 06:40, 25 January 2007 (CST)

Altima

per User_talk:Rjf#Altima, that looks fine, thanks for the help... --Rjf 14:42, 29 April 2007 (CDT)

EDrive vs EnergyCS

As you probably noticed already, I split EDrive and EnergyCS: pages, PHEV options table and navigation. I hope that was OK. --DavideAndrea 21:00, 13 June 2007 (CDT)

Yes I was not aware that that had happened, thank you for making those changes. You even updated the main menu! --Rjf 22:06, 13 June 2007 (CDT)
We'll soon have to do it again for Omtech, CalCar's for-profit branch. DavideAndrea 09:28, 14 June 2007 (CDT)
